This Privacy Policy explains how Yaaqut (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Yaaqut POS mobile application (“App”) on Android and other platforms.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.


1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account and Profile Information

Google Sign-In

When you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information such as your name, email address, profile picture, and an authentication token. This information is used to create or identify your account and to provide App services. Google’s use of your data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Profile Data

If you complete or update your profile in the App, we may store and process your name, email address, phone number, address, and profile picture. This data is stored on your device and, when sync is enabled, may be sent to our servers.

1.2 Business and Operational Data

Yaaqut POS is a Point of Sale system. When you use it, we may collect and process the following data you enter:

  • Business names, members, roles, and subscription information
  • Product and inventory data such as product names, categories, prices, quantities, units, recipes, and images
  • Customer, vendor, and investor names, contact details, and optional map-based location you attach to a party (see Location below)
  • Transactions including sales, purchases, returns, orders, payments, expenses, and reports
  • App settings and preferences such as payment methods, warehouses, units, receipt settings, dashboards, and currency

This data is stored locally on your device. If sync is enabled, it is also stored on our backend servers so you can use multiple devices and recover data.

1.3 Device and App Usage

  • Device Storage: App data is stored in a local database and local storage on your device for settings and preferences.
  • Network Usage: Internet access is used for authentication, data sync, profile updates, image storage, and loading map imagery when you use the party location feature.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising or profiling.

1.4 Location information (party addresses on the map)

When you add or update a party (for example a customer or vendor), you can optionally attach a location to that party using an in-app map.

  • The App may request location permission so the map can work as intended and so you can use a “current location” (or similar) control that moves the map to where you are, after which you choose and confirm the point to save for that party.
  • We store the location you save for the party (such as coordinates and related place details you confirm) as part of your business data, on your device and, if sync is enabled, on our servers—like other party fields.
  • Location is used only to provide this optional party-location feature (display on the map, record with the party record, and sync if enabled). We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or continuous background location tracking.
  • If you deny location permission, you may still use the rest of the App; only features that need device location or the map flow for picking a point may be limited until you allow permission or enter a location another way if the App supports it.

Map services: Map display and related features may be provided by a third-party maps provider (for example Google Maps). That provider’s handling of data when maps load or when you interact with the map is governed by their terms and privacy policy, in addition to this policy.

1.5 Bluetooth

Bluetooth is used only to connect to thermal receipt printers. It is not used to determine or track your geographic location.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide POS features such as sales, inventory, parties, reports, and receipts—including optional map-based locations linked to parties when you choose to set them
  • Authenticate users and maintain secure sessions
  • Sync business data across devices when enabled
  • Store and serve images uploaded by users
  • Provide app configuration and subscription-related features
  • Improve security and prevent unauthorized access

We do not sell your personal or business information.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA / UK)

  • Contract: To provide the App and sync services
  • Legitimate Interests: To operate, secure, and improve our services
  • Consent: For optional features where applicable (withdrawable at any time)—including, where required by law, device location permission for the party map / current-location control

4. Data Storage and Sharing

4.1 Where Data Is Stored

  • On Your Device: All account and business data is stored locally and can be used offline
  • Our Servers: Synced data is stored securely for backup and multi-device use
  • Cloud Storage: Images may be stored using cloud services such as AWS
  • Firebase: Used only for configuration and subscription-related functions

4.2 Sharing with Third Parties

  • Trusted service providers (hosting, cloud storage, Firebase)
  • Maps / location-related platform providers when you use the party map feature (according to their policies)
  • Legal authorities when required by law

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.

5. Android Permissions

  • Internet and network state (for sync, authentication, and loading maps when you use the party location feature)
  • Location (fine and/or coarse location, as shown in the system permission dialog): used only when you use the party add/update screen to show the map, optionally center on your current location via the in-app control, and let you select and save a point for that party—not for background tracking or ads
  • Camera (to capture product images, only when used)
  • Storage (to save receipts or files, where applicable)
  • Bluetooth (to connect to thermal receipt printers only—not for determining where you are)

You can manage permissions in your device settings. Some features may not work if permissions are denied.

6. Data Retention

  • On Device: Data remains until you uninstall the App or clear app data
  • On Servers: Synced data is retained while your account is active and may be kept temporarily after deletion for legal or security reasons
  • Party locations: Saved party map locations follow the same retention as other party and business data (removed when you delete the party, clear data, or after account deletion processes complete, as described in our policies)

7. Your Rights

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Withdraw consent where applicable

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including secure data transmission (HTTPS), secure storage of authentication tokens, and backend access controls. You are responsible for keeping your device and credentials secure.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted in the App or on our website with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App means acceptance of the updated policy.
